  This page presents some of Eugene Robert Richee's best known portraits of Louise Brooks. These images, of the actress wearing a kimono, date from 1927. The Japanese kimono and pajamas, the butterfly-painted backdrop, and the contour of the sitters' body all contribute to a languid, art nouveau effect.
